1760

1,760

While we were watching a CSKA Moscow basketball game, a few thoughts came to mind.

There were 640 online viewers watching the Baltic League broadcast.

Knowing approximately how large their annual budget was, I started comparing it with ours — just for fun.

Our games were usually watched online from around 8–10 locations.

The TAO budget of our entire basketball program — covering seven teams — was approximately 1,760 times smallerthan theirs.

So, proportionally speaking, our audience was actually much larger than one might expect.

Of course, I know it does not really work like that.

Nor is my other wish particularly realistic: that we might receive additional funding for the team in the same proportion by which our audience exceeded the expected ratio.

640 ÷ 9

9,150 ÷ 52

By that logic, our seven teams should have been operating with at least nine times more money.

Of course, we are still a long way from that level of quality — and from that level of basketball.

So I will stay quiet and continue watching CSKA.

And if you feel like it, you can always help increase the audience for the DEAC games. 🙂
